When using the sheets as wall cladding, a 12 gauge x 25mm Type 17 Hex Head should be used for timber battens and for steel purlins, a 10 gauge x 16mm Steel Fix Hex Head screw is best.
Cutting Sheets on Site
Metal roofing sheets should be placed face down on padded protection to reduce any damage to the surface. Abrasive discs should be avoided as they create large amounts of swarf and burred edges, both of which can cause ugly rust stains. The use of steel cutting blades, power shears, nibblers or tin snips are recommended to produce relatively clean, sharp edges with a minimum amount of swarf.
Understanding COLORBOND® Trimdek From The Eyes Of A Professional
From time immemorial, a roof was only viewed as a protective structure over your home. However, times have changed and so has people’s attitude towards roofs and the general concept of roofing. People no longer go for a roof for the simple reason of having some form of shelter. Aside from the obvious advantages of durability and resilience against harsh weather conditions, aesthetics is also another key consideration when selecting a roof. However, there are only a few roofs that offer durability, strength and an aesthetic appeal in one package and TRIMDEK is one of the few. What Does COLORBOND® TRIMDEK® Promise? TRIMDEK® is simply a subtle square-fluted steel cladding that is mostly availed in long lengths for extensive roofing work. However, there are also shorter lengths that run from the ridge to the gutter for small-scale roofing needs. What sets TRIMDEK® apart from similar roofing structures is the fact that it is made of high-strength steel for maximum durability. And while steel is associated with weight, it is important to note that Trimdek is exceptionally light so this allows for ease of movement, installation and eases the process of recovery after deformation. Aside from roofing, Trimdek is also used for wall cladding. This versatile material can be used for commercial, residential or even industrial structures. Its durability is what makes it preferred for use in industrial buildings while a mix of durability, strength and aesthetic appeal makes it ideal for residential and commercial roofing needs. Trimdek comes with a minimum roof slope of 2 degrees and a nominal cover width of 762 mm.
