Also known as a downspout, waterspout, and drainspout. Downpipe positions must be located at low points in eaves gutter or box gutter sections (between high points) or must be evenly spaced in the gutter when gradients are flatter than 1:500.

Downpipes must be connected vertically to the base of the gutter.

Downpipes should be kept to a maximum of 10 metres apart for residential installations. Larger industrial/commercial projects which use larger downpipes can space to a maximum of 18 metres.
