SPANDEK® combines the durability of COLORBOND® steel roofing sheets with a bold, contemporary profile. The pronounced ribs create strong shadow lines, making it a popular choice for modern homes, extensions, garages, sheds and commercial buildings.
Key benefits include:
Strong yet lightweight steel roof and wall cladding
Suitable for residential and commercial applications
Bold square-corrugated profile
Roofing capability from a minimum 2° pitch, subject to design requirements
700mm cover width for efficient coverage
Custom-cut sheets that can reduce unnecessary joins and waste
A choice of genuine COLORBOND® steel colours
Compatible with timber and steel support systems
Suitable for both roofing and vertical wall cladding
LYSAGHT® SPANDEK® can be installed on roof slopes as low as 2°, provided the relevant design and installation requirements are satisfied. This makes it suitable for many low-pitch roofs where a traditional corrugated roofing profile may not be appropriate.
The finished roof pitch must account for construction tolerances, support deflection, settlement and other site conditions. Have the roof design and required support spacings confirmed by a suitably qualified building professional before ordering or installing the sheets.
SPANDEK® is not limited to roof applications. The profile can also be installed as steel wall cladding to create a strong, modern exterior finish.
Its deeper square ribs give walls more visual definition than conventional rounded corrugated sheets. This makes COLORBOND® SPANDEK® suitable for feature walls, garages, sheds, workshops, commercial buildings and contemporary residential designs.
The sheets may be installed vertically where appropriate for the building design. Correct flashings, support spacing and fastener selection remain essential for a secure and weather-resistant result.
The formed steel profile provides a strong exterior surface suited to demanding Australian building applications. Its durability and resistance to everyday impact make SPANDEK® a practical option for roofing and wall cladding where strength, coverage and appearance are all important.
Performance still depends on selecting the correct sheet thickness, fasteners and support spacing for the site’s wind classification, exposure conditions and building design.
These SPANDEK® sheets are manufactured from genuine BlueScope COLORBOND® prepainted steel. COLORBOND® steel combines a steel base with protective metallic and prepainted coatings designed for exterior roofing and walling applications.
The available colour range makes it easier to coordinate your SPANDEK® roof or walls with matching gutters, fascia, downpipes and COLORBOND® flat sheet 1200mm flashings. Product suitability and warranty conditions can vary according to location, environmental exposure, application and distance from breaking surf or other marine influences.
Every sheet is cut to the length entered when ordering. Ordering accurately measured sheets can reduce unnecessary end laps, minimise material waste and create a cleaner finished roof or wall.
Before placing your order:
Confirm the required roof or wall measurements.
Allow for the correct overhangs and installation details.
Check the roof pitch and support spacings.
Select the required COLORBOND® colour.
Enter each sheet length and quantity carefully.
Confirm delivery access for long roofing sheets.
Cut-to-length roofing is made specifically for your order, so measurements should be checked before checkout.
SPANDEK® is a pierce-fixed profile secured directly through the sheet into timber or steel supports. The required roofing screws will depend on the support material, sheet specification and site conditions.
A complete installation may also require:
COLORBOND® roofing screws for timber or steel
Profiled SPANDEK® foam infill strips
Ridge capping
COLORBOND® corner roof flashing and other roof flashings
Use compatible materials and fasteners throughout the roofing system. Incorrect fasteners or contact with incompatible metals can affect performance and contribute to premature corrosion.
Each SPANDEK® sheet has a nominal cover width of 700mm. This is the width covered after the sheets are correctly lapped, not necessarily the total physical width of the sheet.
The minimum roof slope is 2°, subject to the applicable design provisions being met. The finished roof must maintain the required pitch after allowing for construction tolerances and deflection.
